I am curious as to when GM changed the fuel system and what is the difference.
In my last issue of Vette magazine, there is a product preview for a fuel pump from Ligenfelter. It states that it is designed for 97 through early 03 Vettes. I looked up a few posts and one indicated that the fuel system was changed in 2002.
My car is a midyear 03 Z06, built in June 03. When exactly did the fuel system change?

GM made a "running" (during the production year) design change in 2003 model year. Not '04.
The LPE website explains if this pump you are looking at will work for you. Read it. You will need your VIN to determine for sure if you have the "new" FFS system or the previous version, but with your car being produced very very late in the '03 production, I can just about guarantee you have the newer design. The reason for the change is emissions related.
It means you will have to drop your tank to install this fuel pump you are looking at.

As I stated, I was just curious as I did not know the system had been changed.
Another member sent me a PM with a link pertaining to fuel leaks in the new system due to cracks in the fuel system.
I thought "oh good", I had an 02 Z06 which I sold with 11,500 miles on it. The next day the new owner lost the engine on the interstate with a broken valve spring. I now have an 03 Z06 so the fuel issue is of concern. It however appears that it is confined to 04 models which are warranted.

ps; I did file a complaint with NHTSA even though I did not have the problem as requested via the Forum. I felt sorry for the guy I sold the car to but I had not heard of the spring problem and the car ran fine. A failure at 11,500 miles is a crock of shXX. I heard that the rtepair was a new engine @ $10,000.
