Hey Guys,
I know that the 2003 anniversary red is a tri-coat paint. I'm looking for a color that looks fairly close.I just finished making the battery cover from the template on the boards. I made it out of lexan. I guess the trick is to paint the underside and it looks really nice from the top. I am not showing my car, I just want something that looks good and matches pretty well. I'm not too worried about the gold flakes.
I know that sometimes the creative guys on the forum come across paints, even from other car makers that are pretty good matches to the colors on the vette.
Any ideas?
Go to www.automotivetouchup.com. They will have the touch up paint for the 50th anniversary red in spray, pen or touch up bottle. I have all three for my 50th and it is a perfect match. At least as perfect as you can get considering the technology involved in the anniversary red color. I think you will be impressed. Good luck with your battery compartment project.

Went there and popped in my car's information but the results didn't have Anniversary Red. Am I missing something?

First, I would call automotivetouchup.com and talk with them. Does your glovebox show the paint code as 94? It may also be referred to as WA820K. You'll need the paint code to talk with them. It's likely that it's not a high demand color and possibly autotouchup will do some for you. I've never tried it but from what I've read on the forum, Sherwin-Williams will make shaker cans also. Use their paint code number below and call the local store. Lastly, I've also read on the forum that there is an auto parts chain that I don't remember the name (I think it's Carquest) that makes shaker cans as well at the local store. I'm sure someone will add the name to the post or you can search around in the forum, you may find it. lastly, post what you find or don't find so the next guy can see where this went.

Florida's right! I would definitely order by phone. It has been almost two years since I ordered mine so I guess it might be possible they don't stock it anymore. I would surely determine that by calling them. Good luck! In the for what it's worth department, GM replaced and painted my rear deck two years ago,due to a serious bubbling in the paint. The body shop used PPG paint and it was a great match. The anniversary red is very, very, very, tricky to match, especially on large surfaces. They showed me about 5 or 6 defferent practice boards (shades) of it and told me to pick one. I spent over an hour making a decision to get the closest match. That was moving the car around in different locations around the body shop, in different lighting situations. I am very happy with my decision, however it was certainly a stressful time. Luckily, it was the rear deck...I am convinced you could never paint a fender or a door in anniversary red and expect it to match. I guess I am writing this in detail to say I have had several nightmares dealing with matching anniversary red paint. In my opinion, it is definitely one of the most amazing colors ever put on a car, but I would never do it again! Good luck with your touch up!
