Default Problem lowering car-stuck front bolt

So instead of turning the bolt can I cut the bushing to get the car about another 1" lower? Rears worked fine. Fronts are not moving and begining to strip. Letting them soak overnight and tomorrow I will pull the spring and try to get them to move. If they do not move would cutting the bushing get me the 1" drop?

Here's a good post from earlier today. My front passenger was frozen a couple of years ago when I did mine, but penetrating oil over night, and release pressure off leaf spring will help. Check this response out, right on time.

Yes, turning the bolt counter clockwise will lower the car. HOWEVER, even the newest C-5s, are what, 7 years old? You'll need to use some penetrating oil on that screw, as it's been in place for a while....

I have it soaking now but it looks pretty bad. If it does not turn I will cut the bushing. I am just wondering how much of a drop I get from just cutting the bushing. A lot of searching and I can not find a number.

I used a pry bar on the leaf spring and lower a arm when I couldn't get mine to turn. The backs I could loosen by hand when I got the pressure off them. The fronts, I had to use a wrench the whole time.

Hey nickolbag I was in the same boat as you. I could get one to turn but the other wasn't having anything to do with it. Ended up cutting the bushings and it did give me another 1" drop. I was able to get a long bladed recipricating saw and hack them off pretty even..
