MY C5 headliner keeps falling down from my coupe hard top. I tried velcro but that did not work any suggestions on what i might use to bond it back to the top?
Upholstry adhesive. You probably need to remove it completely and then start over. I would even get a new headliner.
For some reason GM used really crappy adhesives on the interior of the C5s and as a result after 7-10 years people start having the door panels, headliners, dash pads, etc. start coming apart. If you get some good modern adhesive it will last a LONG time...
Just a thought but if you are going to pull the whole headliner and install a new one, suede (Alcantara) would look pretty sweet. I've actually considered doing it on my targa even though mine is in good condition.
Did mine in August.....used 3M adhesive and it worked like a charm.
1. Pulled three sides down.
2. Sprayed 3M adhesive on the backing and let it set up..follow the instructions.
3. Re-attach the headliner and tuck in with something soft (like a popsicle stick).
