my vette has been at the body shop for two weeks and state farm still cannot make up there mind what to do with it. the guys at the body shop keeps telling them that it needs to be painted but they just wont listen to them . i am just about had enough of this crap , feel like just telling the shop to paint it and send me the bill , tired of waiting .well will give another update when i find out more and maybe put up some before and after pics.
I had state flub insurance for many, many years. After my daughter turned 16, got her license and had a very minor fender bender: she backed into a car that was ILLEGALY parked, state flub dropped us cold after nearly 18 years of doing business and NO other claims in all those years. They have started contacting me recently asking me to insure my vehicles with them and I just ignore their contacts. Too bad for them because I have my Vette, my F-150, my 30 foot motorhome, wife's SUV and a collector 1973 Ford Thunderbird all insured with another company. They've lost a fortune over the years in premiums since they dropped me but I save money with my current coverage anyway.

It doesn't matter one wit that the car was illegally parked..it could have been upside down for all that matters, she still hit it!

Be patient. Don't pay for it yourself unless you have way too much money and don't know what to do with it all. Why give them an excuse to stiff you. Play poker at all? Put your game face on.
If they decide not to pay to paint the whole car you can always pay the body shop the difference and have it done anyway. IMO, you will be better off crying poverty with the ins co. rather than flashing cash.

Call the main office of state farm and ask to speak with a supervisor. Explain your situation and frustration to them, making sure you get his supervisors name and number. Repeat his name a few times during the conversation and give him a hint if your not satisfied you will go over his head to get your problem corrected. This usually works most supervisors dont want any complaints to get past them.

Back to your regularly scheduled program.[/
The point is the illegal vehicle had no LAWFUL right to be where it was. The ins. co. still should have considered it what is called a "contributing factor" to the accident and not held her 100% liable. But that was too much to expect from state flub.

Back to whatever you're watching buddy...
Not to add more fuel to this fire, but it could have been a child or person in a wheelchair, bottom line is the driver is responsible and should be aware of objects behind and around their vehicle. Now don't get me wrong, there are stupid drivers who on seeing that you are backing out of a parking spot, will make like they don't see you and charge full speed ahead, but when I drive the Hummer, they get sense.....
And with the insurance company, I do agree with you that there was no need to totally drop you.
