im installing B&B Bullets and a X-pipe (i was going to put headers on but cant really afford it right now)anyway, my question is will having the X-PIPE on make a differance as opposed to having them off as far as sound goes?
the x mainly smooths out the sound and reduces the popping on decel.
Very little performance difference (if any) -- when you put headers on later, add the x pipe .. some headers come with it. As loud as the bullets are, the popping should be interesting.

Youll pick up a couple of ponies with the x-pipe, no popping and it will sound throatier. (Personal experience).
My '99 has the Pypes Violater system on it. Very nice mild sounding system. Neighbor friendly. Recently installed Corsa X pipe. Wish I didn't. Took away all the tone I had before the install. If I didn't have to cut my facory H pipe to install the Corsa system, I would go back. Very disappointed with new soumd.

Thanks for the heads up. Did your car pop before you installed the xpipe? What about after?

The x-pipe could quiet down the resonance (if any) and also any popping when letting off the gas. I had a set of B&B Route 66s on my '00 and both of those issues were annoying to say the least until I put on an x-pipe.
after i put on my corsa x-pipe, i got a really nice sound. it didnt really quiet it down, but it changed the tone of the exhaust, and made it a bit smoother. definitely made it sound better. i would recommend it.
If you are planning to install headers at a later date, you may want to leave the X pipe out for now. If you install long tubes (most power gain), its my understanding that the X pipe is different (shorter I expect).

I installed an x-pipe on my coupe with TI exhaust and right away I noticed a difference in sound and the response with the throttle was a lot smoother, The exhaust kinda had an exotic sound to it.

I installed a Corsa X-pipe for one reason only. To get rid of the decelaration jingle which my car was plagued with. It did solve that problem. However, I have to admit that I actually miss the popping on deceleration. The X-pipe did not quiet my exhaust down but changed the tone. Wide open throttle does sound amazing though.
I love the sound of my bullets. Sounds even better now with long tubes and 3 inch X pipe. Of course, to make the wife happy I need to put in a sound deadening kit under the carpet.
