Plastic Smell after shutdown
I have a 2002 coupe with a 6 spd after the car gets warmed up (only when driving) I pull into the garage and sense a smell of hot plastic. Not the burning stench and I looked underneath for a plastic bag in the radiator and/or any plastic wire harness signs of heat, no luck. It's only on the left side and only when I drive it. I can keep it idleing until the fans kick on and off with no smell. Has anyone experienced this mystery on their ride?

Ok I'll look it over again but I don't recall any oil on the engine nor any loss of oil on the stick. I also don't see any smoke from oil dripping and the garage floor is clean. Thanks ill check it in a couple of days as I'm going to change all of the fluids.

This isn't an unusual condition - The C5 is widely known as a stinker - really. You might also check the air intake area under the front fascia to see if something (like a plastic bag) got sucked up, and is slow-cooking.
