Default TMPS question on new wheels

I'm getting a set of new wheels. Just wondering if I can move the TMPS from my old wheels over to my new one, or do I need to go ahead and buy new TMPS?

Yepper you can transfer them to your new wheels....go to your local Home Depot store and buy a pack of #9 o'rings...double them up on each sensor when installing.

Depending are how old they are, now would be a good time to replace them.

I just went through that whole thing. First time there they mixed up my sensors and didnt put in the new rubbers. Next day flat tire. Thats how I found out the front sensors were swapped. They said no big deal the computer will teach them. Other sensor got leaking and went back to get all new rubbers. They were not able to reteach my sensors with several machines and magnets. Told me to go to the dealer. Watch them the whole time. This was a place recomended to me by others. I had four new wheels and bought two new runflats from that store.

Good info. I'd second the recommendation that if your current sensors are the original ones, you might want to consider getting a new set - would save having to break the wheels/tires down again when your current set wears out.

I usually buy all my parts used, mainly from Vettenuts.com. I'm assuming the best place with best prices for new would be gmpartshouse. com?

Oh and how big of a magnet do I need to link the new sensors to my Vette?

Mine is an 04 and two of the old ones leaked. The kit with the gromet and nut are about $3.00 each

There is a great DIY video I've seen on replacing the batteries in the sensors. Do a search and you should find it. MUCH cheaper then replacing the sensors.

Replace them, I bought 4 new ones from tire rack at 38 bucks each and glad I did even though mine were still working, I just felt they were on borrowed time.
