Full power shifting should not be tryed by a novice. The way it's done is sorta like just not lifting off the throtle, here is how I do it. I start to push in the clutch as fast as possible, just after I pass the point of disengagement I shift to the next gear as fast as possible, as the clutch hits the floor I release it as fast as possible, repeate for each gear with throtle on floor. You have to practice this set of movements at low rpm at slight throtle and become proficent at it FIRST before you try to do a real power shift at full throtle. Wonce you get the sequence down it's not difficult but till you do it's not a good idea. It is possible to shift these transmitions with no clutch, but not possible to do it without damage under full power with no clutch. The only possible reason to want to shift without a clutch on the stock transmition, is if the clutch is broken to get home.Power Shifting will get you the most acceleration the car is capable of but is an acquired skill. I ran my 02 Z06 this weekend at the C5 B-Day Bash and was semi powershifting it as I am still trying to tell my brain that the right foot stays on the floor when the left foot and right arm move. :smash: 1-2 and 2-3 part throttle and 3-4 full throttle. I did miss 4th once and the trans made the grinding noise like my syncros were being destroyed. :cry The clutch/trans survived and I let it cool for about 15 min before the next run. Powershifting generates alot of heat in the clutch. I could feel the difference between shifts if I did or did not allow the clutch/trans to cool between rounds. I recommend letting the car and clutch cool between rounds. :conehead
When I am power shifting I am useing my right foot on the gas petal as a "dead" petal to hold my butt firmly in the seat, same as you would with your left foot on the dead petal when cornering fast. Ric
