Just sharing a tip to dress up your screws around your door sill or hatch area.
Get a piece of card board
A can of chrome krylon spray paint
Remove all the screws in question and push through the card board to hold them in place. This allows you to only spray the heads of the screws leaving the threads untouched.
Can you imagine the time spent doing this and the costs of the spray paint? It's cheaper to buy the ACTUAL stainless steel screws and have the real deal.
Like is always said on this forum..."its your vette do what you want". Some things I see on here that people do to their vettes are far worse then spraying the screw heads with chrome paint. This is a place to share ideas, thanks for the post.

rick didn't say it very elegantly but he has a point. I bought the kit from a forum vendor because I'm lazy but if you take out a few screws, go to Home Depot, or Lowes, or Ace Hardware, you can find the stainless replacements at a very reasonable price. Very likely within a couple dollars of what the paint would cost. My biggest concern would be putting the painted crews back in without chippping the paint in the screwdriver slot or between the screw and washer.
I do like your thought process though. If the paint really looks like chrome there are some pieces that could take advantage of the lower cost option.
I'm a very do it yourself type of guy, I have Patents for stuff I did myself, and also spent many years saving money on projects using what I can get around the shop.
BUT.....while this is a great do-it-yourself project, Consider what it really gains you?
I wasn't trying to wizz on anyones parade....I appreciate the posters thoughts on the work.
