Heard some rattling sounds at idle, and then the compressor would not come on. Checked the belts, pulleys, and fuses....all fine. Fiddling around, I'd press the AC button, light would come on, no compressor kicking in, and AC light would turn off.
Getting into it later this afternoon, but I'm guessing the compressor bit the dust. Other thoughts? I can wrench an engine, but I don't know zip about AC.

That's outside of my expertise. I have this impression that whether it's the compressor clutch or other compressor componets, my wallet will be emptied by $1K. Rats!
