Default NXT Step Exhaust

I feel obligated to share my experience with NXT Step Exhaust. I purchased the system off of e-bay for $600.00. Received it in great shape. I opened up the box Hot damn!!! Can't wait. Now I'm a real handy fellow with 26+ years in the sheet metal field. I got started installing this so called " bolt on exhaust." I had read all the post here before I purchased this system and thought, there maybe some minor problems with this but nothing I can't handle. Well to make a LONG story short what a nightmare this turned out to be. I worked about 18 hours on this to install. I found that the right hand tips were not welded straight from factory. I contacted NXT through e-bay and told him that there was a problem with the tips and I was told that this system is made using a jig. Maybe so but it was still not straight. They sent another tip out. It was straight. On with the install. After more time and eating gnats in the south Georgia heat I gave up. Took the car to the local exhaust shop. Hours later a few cuts and bends on the system and it was done. Everything looks good and it sounds great also. Just wanted to let anyone who is interested in this system know. You will have to do a lot of extras to get this one on.

Not necessarily, there are a few exhaust in around the $600 price range that are decent sounding and are put together nicely.

Sorry to hear that. I was one of the first to try this system out a few years ago and it went on perfectly and has continued to look and sound awesome and tough it out through a few tough, slat-laden winters and tons of rain with no ill-effects. It looks like new every time I wash the car and polish the system up. No corrosion and it is still perfectly alligned as my original pictures showed.

Guess QC is non-exisitent at the manufacturer's long-term.

I only paid 650 for my B&B bullets shipped and they went right on with no issues.

Don't get me wrong..... These sound great and they look awesome on the car. Just can't believe what we ( me and the guy at the exhaust shop ) went through. We had to cut, Re bend and weld to get this installed. Yea the clamp they send are terrible. Live and learn !

Fit and finish was the biggest worry I had when deciding on which catback to get. I am sure glad I went with Magnaflow. They fit like a glove and the price was good too.

Interesting,i also have nxt step and installed them in my driveway with no problems. Like others have said the only problems i had were replacing those crappy clamps. Maybe a quality control issue.

It took me a little over an hour to install and the tips lined up. It's not perfect but non of exhaust that I've installed in any on my vehicles were perfect. Straight through design and awesome sound. Worth the money for sure.

I've had mine for several years. I had my mechanic install them as I was having a problem with my back at that time. He didn't have any problems with them. I love the sound.
