So I'm going to be installing a C6 shifter from RSD on tuesday. I think I've read enought on the installation process but my searches didn't turn up too much in the way of alligning the shifter. The reason I want to allign is ever since I got the vette back from a shop where I had tranny work done, reverse is very hard for me to get into. So I'm thinking I need to re allign the shift box. Is this what I need to do or is there something else?
Any information on alligning or other procedures would be much appreciated.
Just make sure that when you remove your old shifter it is in neutral. The new shifter has a pin that locks the shifter in neutral. Install the shifter with the bolts a little loose. Look down thru the bolt hole that locks the shifter to the rod. The notch in the rod has to be dead *** centered in the hole. Move the shifter forward or back and get the notch centered. Drop in the bolt in the rod clamp and tighten, then tighten the shifter bolts, push down the neutral locking pin to free the shifter.

you did great! except i think you make out better lifting the algnment pin up to free the shifter. pushing it down into the hole locks the shifter in place.

Couldn't have asked for a better response. Clear and simple with out adding a bunch of junk to confuse you. Thanks
