So I finished up my little blackout project and thought I'd post up a few pics. First I did the wheels with the candy blue calipers. I quickly decided that black wheels with a lot of bright colors and chrome on the car wasn't working for me, so I had the lenses (brakes and rear indicators) smoked. I decided to keep the back-up lights clear for now (I may change my mind later). I also had the exhaust tips powdercoated black.
when I read powder coated the exhaust tips, I cringed a bit. However, it looks really good. I don't think I have seen that done before, but I really like it as part of the total package.
I'm not a fan but it does look good for what you are trying to accomplish. Good job.
Take a look at your third photo. It looks like the entire rear fascia is black, not just the bottom......I think doing that ALL black will be good for your look. What do you think? There are examples on the forum.

Mine are done that way as well. I love it and get a surprising number of positive comments on them.
I didn't do the front corners yet because I don't want to try to smoke over the amber, it doesn't come out right. I'm debating just getting some clear corners and smoking them like the rears or getting clear corners with an LED strip from JWM and doing a much lighter tint coat.
I've thought about painting both the roof/halo as well as the whole rear fascia black. I'm sure it would look sick after a few examples I've seen here. My only hesitation on the rear fascia is that it gets so friggen dusty driving down the road and black would just show that off more.

Those candy blue calipers against those black rims are killer . Your Vette looks badass . My lights are blacked out all around, including back-up, and never a problem.
