In plans for a few mods, I know I will probably need a good tune. I'm only 70 miles from the factory in Bowling Green but I don't know of any Corvette tuners within a few hours driving distance. It seems most of the local Vete owners I'm familiar with are more "polish it and put it back in the garage" type. So, any shops in Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Nashville, Paducah, Evansville, ect.????
Looks like a mail order tune from ECS for me when the time comes. Which is not a bad thing from what I have read. You guys who live in Corvette mecca's don't know how lucky you are to have knowledgeable people in the neighborhood.

Great move! Ive been a happy customer for 7 years now!
A few hour drive will be worth it for a good tuner to get a real tune instead of a mail order tune.
Many of those destinations I listed are a few hours drive. The problem is knowing where to go and who to trust. I've found a lot of folks can talk the talk but that's about the extent of their expertise. I'll keep checking around with other owners in my area, surely some of them raise the hood once in a while.

Where is this Corvette Mecca you speak of? HeII I thought Nashville and Bowling Green was the place to be for Vettes. Madvette, Corvettes N Moore, and Vettenuts are just south of Nashville.

You could be right but I was unaware that any of those listed were tuners. It just "seems" to me that parts of Texas, California, Florida and the Northeast have the lions share of Corvette support but hey I'm looking to get educated. Anybody had any work done by these guys around Nashville?

Do you have experience with our mail order tunes? (since I know you do not..) I have performed literally 100's of mail order tunes on cars that were previously dyno tuned elsewhere where the customer was much happier with our mail order tune. Just because a vehicle was placed on a dyno, does not mean it was tuned correctly.

Stock or bolt on's. Cold air intakes, thermostats, headers. Internal engine mods or forced induction cars have too many variables to send a "final go and race it" tune, but we do often send start up files for just about anything.

oh sorry man. Those guys are not tuners. They are corvette specialists though. I'm sure between them they can give you a name and number of a tuner in that area.

.
Thats why I said "good tuner". Tuning abilities aside, dyno > mail order every time.

An ECS tune would be a good choice. Or, Chuck at Corvettes of Winchester also does mail order tunes and many forum members have been pleased with his work as well.
Regarding driving for a tune, how long does it usally take a pro tuner to install a new intake (Calloway Honker that needs to be cut into shroud) and then perform the tune?
