Got my 04 coupe for almost 8K less than the one you're looking at. They are out there. Take your time and shop around, make sure you can drive the car so you'll know if it "feels" like it's the one for you. That way, you'll have no regrets. Good luck.

I believe the asking price is too high considering what has been done to the car.

I think you would get more enjoyment out of your Corvette if you got the automatic. I don't think you said how you intended to use your car but it will go very fast without a manual transmission. Also, the mods to the car suggest the previous owner(s) may have been somewhat more aggressive in their driving habits than I would want in my new car.

Just my $.02

I have a 03 Anniv Red Coupe. Looked for a long time to find a higher mileage one for $19500 this past Jan. Once you fall in love with that color, it's over. There nothing like it and everywhere I go I get comments about the color. The anniv package was a $5K option new.But that included an extra roof panel, special shocks. special paint, baging, etc. Things of individual personal taste and value. All these other comments are apples to orange comparisons. There are lots of low mileage verts with auto trans out there.
The $31k is maybe a little high but pretty much the asking price esp from a dealer. I have one word of advise though. If you have to have the car shipped make sure you research the magnetic ride shocks. They must be shipped with shock stuffers or you risk a very expensive repair. Go to the 50th Anniversary website for some insite to these cars. They are special and very unique in a few ways.
As far as the stick vs auto issue , personally I'd hold out for the auto for a daily driver but a manual for a fun wknd car. It sounds like your husband is an influence here. Google 2003 Corvette Anniv Red and you will see the field of opportunity. I've been there and gone thru the process.
Good luck , the hunt is part of the fun.

If you are just going to have it to cruise around in on nice days find an automatic.

The price for that vette is to high. Check in on the Used Vettes for sale forums. They have some seriously good deals. Also try Craigs list. If your unsure what you need to look for when your buying a vette ask on the forums or search. There are a ton of posts about it. If you would like help looking at a certain vette, another set of eyes, you can also ask in these forums or the region forum sections.

Your going to love the vette! I bought my first one 4 months ago. It's everything I have ever thought they were and then some.
