Default two issues!

Good Morning;
Has anyone had issues with opening their car door. I put my fingers inside the electronic door handle and nothing happens. I finally got the door open after 5or 6 tries. This has been going on for a couple of months now. Its a 2008 ZO6with ONLY 6 thousand miles on it. I took it to the dealer to have it looked at. I'm concerned that its going to open fine for the mechanic and nothing will get resolved. This leads me to my next issue. The service writer told me I need to replace all four tires soon. ARE YOU KIDDING???.
I drive it like an grandma and I only have as mentioned above 6 thousand miles on it. How long should these tires last? Should I call GoodYear and bitch or am I wasting my time. The guy told me close to 2 thousand dollars for 4 new tires. Wow!!.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Have a great day.

Take a deep breath. I think the electronic door pads (on a C6) can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. There should be many many threads about this in the C6 section, as it's a common problem.

As for the tires, when was the last time you had an alignment done? A bad alignment can definitely wear down tires in as little as 6 thousand miles. But yeah, a "grandma" should probably get at least double that mileage from those tires.
