Have any vert owners used one of the "quiet ride" panels some of the different vendors sell that wedges in the back cargo\trunk area and is supposed to quiet the road\tire\exhaust sound?
I like the idea as the noise in my vert is pretty high with the top down and stock run-flats and such but just wanted to find out anyone's experience before I made the $150 purchase.
I wouldn't bet on it helping any/much with the noise.
I did the interior insulation kit years ago and it helped.
Just got rid of the oe runflats and switched to hankook v12's and the difference is unbelievable!!
You want a quieter ride? Get rid of the runflats!
i actually have (and do use) a trunk "partition". it isn't one of the foamy ones, it is an acrylic panel, carpeted on one side (the inner) and matching shale colored vinyl on the trunk side. it does help in my opinion. is it perfect?? not by any means. in my case, it does take a bit of the trunk area (it is angled to fit into the top down area and then angle back across the tire tubs to the trunk floor). i used to keep it installed all the time, but i decided i preferred to have the extra little bit of trunk space it took up, back, so i only use it from time to time now and just put u p with the increased noise. i guess i am used to it, because it really doesn't bother me at all.
I bought the cheap ( $39.00 ) foam one. I think it helps some, and also does double duty as protection for the top when it's down, and I have stuff in the trunk.
In the case of my Z06, it made a huge difference. It's built from MDF and has carpet on the trunk side, matching vinyl with acrylic "window" on cabin side. Quality piece that really helped.
