Anyone buy tires at Discount Tire? If you did what were your experiences?
I'm looking at getting 4 Hankooks and the independent dealer wants $250 more than Discount Tire for the same tires mounted.
I have bought several sets of tires from them over the last four years and have not had any problems. Shipped free to my front door! Can't beat them on their prices.

In the past year, I have bought a set of Hankook Ventus V12 tires for my C5 and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires for my DD from Discount Tire Direct. In each case the CS rep was extremely helpful, asked a lot of good questions and set me up with the above tires at a great price that no one else could beat. And shipping is free. I have been very pleased with them and will order from them again.

Another fan of Discount Tire Direct here...I just got my Hankooks there...good price, nice sales guy named Peter, fast delivery, will buy from them again.
I bought a set for my 2006 GTO back in 2007, a set of Goodyear Duratracs for my Tacoma and I am going to get a set for my 03 Vette. I have had no problems with them. They are always very pleasant to deal with.
I recently bought a wheel/tire package from them, and while I had a wheel problem with them they took care of it promptly.
I forget his extension, but I dealt with and have good things to say about Sam Rovner.
Maybe ext 51814?
I have had good luck with them. Just make sure you are watching them when they pull your car into the bay. The last time they drove mine onto the scissor lift, and were about to take it up until I stopped them and told them they need to use jacks and my pucks. Some of them are aware of it, some are not.
I'll add a thumbs up to the mix... I've been doing business with them for quite sometime. Each time, I shop around, and no one has ever beat their prices.
I AM confused however, by some of the posts here...
"I buy from discount tire direct (online)"
"Shipped free to my front door!"
"The online usually has better prices."
There are two stores here in Corpus Christi, and both of them are happy to honor the online prices and/or discounts. I call the local store, tell them what I want, they call me when the tires have arrived, and I make an appointment to have them installed. It takes 30-45 minutes sitting in the lobby while they install. Exact same price as the on-line "out the door" price.
I see no particular advantage to ordering online, and I'm trying to figure out why it would be better to have them shipped to your front door???

I can't think of another place I've ever bought tires from.
They have always had the best deals for me with the best service. I haven't had to put tires on the Vette yet but if I do I know where I'll be going !!

I just bought a set of Hankooks on line. When I called the local store, they acted like they didn't want to order the Hankooks for me. And tried to sell me something else. I'm going down to the local Hoosier dealer and have mine demounted so I can replace the batterys in tpms. Probably won't do it till fall though now. There's a little more tread left on my rear tires than I thought, and I don't a lot of freeway driving.
Deal with your local store. You want to develop a working relationship with those that service your car.
Great advice. When a problem arises, I always want to speak to someone in person. I like doing business with them because of the number of stores they have nationwide.
I used to buy my tires from the local Discount tire until they wanted to charge me $40 a tire to rebuild my TPM's. Couldn't complain about the past service but $160 to replace rubber o-rings is a bit much!
