Stupid question ?

Can a remote from a 2000 be programmed to work on a '98 ?

I tried and

I couldn't get it to work....

Anyone ?

No because I believe in 2000 they stop doing the "passive" feature on them. It's a small ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the remote for the 1997 to 1999 what you are looking for.

I have both 97-99 and 00 remotes programmed for my 98 vert. Must have FCCID ABO0216T on the back to work. Only thing that won't work is the passive activation which is a PITA anyway.
Check the battery and maybe the solder joints and if you are near an AutoZone they have a receiver that checks remotes near the cash register.
It ABSOLUTELY SHOULD WORK.

BTW if you don't know the answer it isn't a stupid question.
