There have been posts on replacing the batteries in these earlier units. That would save you a lot of $ as opposed to paying the over-$100 per price I've seen on OEM units. But perhaps, as above, there are lower-cost alternatives now for early C5 tire sensors bought new.

the best price I could come up with was to replace all of my 00 stuff with 01+ components.
4 sensors, receiver, key fob, and connector was going to run 350 while 4 new 00 sensors were like 400ish.

Thanks for the referrals. I would be happy to help. As far as a screwing on shipping that isn't me. If you're talking about the earlier part number of sensors our website will request high shipping, just by calculation factor and I will be happy to adjust it for you. Also, the extra shipping cost was factored into the pricing of the sensors. I'm making 5% profit on a $100 tire pressure sensor, so yeah, I'll make sure I take all of that extra money to the bank right away!
