Small car show in VA Beach yesterday and the guy that owned this vette though the name of it was a bee hive. That front part that covers the air intake from the filters that is carbon fiber.
Who makes it and is it offered by any of the vendors on here. ???
Thats from a c6, I think ECS sells them for the c5, but they have another hole for the supercharger intake. Just my thought, I'm sure someone else will chime in, I would buy one of those if they were available.
It probably wouldn't be hard to fabricate something similar out of ABS plastic or carbon fiber for a C5. The hydrographic is optional. With that area enclosed and the shroud opened for an after market filter, that would make a true DIY "cold air intake".
Fab it up with cardboard and transfer to the final product of your choice.

He mentioned about 13hp difference. I like it cause it looks clean and its got to be simple to keep it clean. Nice addition. .......

ECS only make them for the A&A style of blower. Just got off the phone with them.
Maybe someone one will pop in later who knows. Know it would be a nice addition and sell .... if someone did.....

Actually ECS only makes them for the ECS style blower.
It's Halltech. You can get just the shroud or just the duct or both. With or without carbon fiber. They have all sorts of bee names for the various parts. I believe that one is the carbon super bee: http://www.halltechsystems.com/Produ...ctCode=SBCF112

It's pricey and it's C6-only (as that car is).

thank you.. Wonder why someone don't make it for the C5. For those that have the nack it does like like it would be easy to make but for those of us that don't maybe we can spark some interest.

Not sure why they don't make it for the C5 but honestly you're not really getting much. It's basically just a big filter stuck onto the air bridge. Then a shroud to keep heat out? Kinda pointless since the filter is at the edge of the engine bay and I doubt you're gonna have much problem sucking up hot air once you start moving. Realistically other intakes like vararam will make more power and something like 1/4 the price. Unless you just like the cosmetic look of the shroud then that's a whole 'nother story.

Kinda both dope. Think it looks really sharp especially if it matched the rest of your under hood design and Pat said he could not cover the radiator cover with the design I have (to thin) so was looking to kill two birds with one stone but so much for a good idea..
Did call Halltech and the unpainted ain't a bad price at one twenty five but it would have to be modded and really don't want to take that chance of it being to short. Long I could deal with but there's that risk.
Sometimes being different is even a tough row to hoe..
