Default C6 interior swap

Has anyone ever tried to install most of the interior of a C6 into a C5. Im talking mainly the dash and center console. can it be done without too much modding?

thanks

Unlikely, cars are different dimensions.

Cheaper to buy a C6 instead.

About the only thing I've seen done so far is using the C 6 seats in the C5. Changing out the dash, etc. would be an interesting project if it could be done, but I tend to agree - it would be rather expensive.

If you like the C6 interior then it's best to get a C6.

or you could always just swap the seats out for some nice Corbeaus and install a nice dvd/nav system and have a unique interior. You can make the C5 look great with little changes, maybe even a little leather overlay here and there. But swapping out for a C6 interior is not worth it in my eyes.

I think the C5's dash has more character. I love the throwback grab handle on the passenger side.

It would seem that not only the body is wider on a C6 then a C5 that would be an issue with the dash. Also all of the electrical would need to be revamped. I would seem that it be much easier to do a remodel of your C5 interior, there are plenty of items available to change it. You could probably even get a custom shop to redo yours you what the C6 would cost to be installed maybe even less.

I've been tempted to attempt to mold the C6 console but they are too expensive for me to just buy as a test part. The vent of the C6 is integral to the console while it's seperate for the C5. To fit the C6 console, first thing you would need to do is cut off the vent at the top.

It's certainly doable, but would require quite a bit of fabrication - all projects are just time and money

I think you'd be better off building a full custom dash & console.

talk to double D, get your whole interior leather wrapped and have a nav system put in. C6 owners will envy.

Ture if im going to spend money might as well make it nicer than the C6 interior. I didnt know the sizes of the interior were much diffrent from C5 to C5.5(C6)lol. damm you GM why must your sexy car look like crap on the inside! I have almost bought two Z06's i drool every time i look at them until i sit inside. Once im inside i feel like i would never be happy. and just changing seats wont be enough and i dont care about Nav. Huge panel gaps and cheap plastics kill it for me every time.

Just drive it and don't worry how the dash looks!

The C6 is a very nice ride but I feel the interior lost a lot of character in the redesign. The controls and surfaces just make me think of any new late model GM car, not necessarily a bad thing but not high on my list of things to like about the C6

That is one of the strongest reasons I bought my C5: I liked the interior much better than the C6.
