1998 No start update, please help!

1998 No start update, please help!
My 1998 did not start after work today. Battery seems good, everything works. When I turn the ign key the lights do not dim. This leads me to beleive its the ign switch. no pull key wait messages are displayed, do not think it the dreaded column lock. Any thoughts on repair and parts cost?
Thanks for the information Bill. I changed out the ign switch and I still get the no start condition. The battery is good, I get no click from the starter and the lights on the radio do not dim. I have the srvice manual and was starting to check the no start procedure in the manual. The first thing it talks aboput is checking current to the theft prevention relay. I cna't find where this is. I know from the manual it has a six wire connections to it but I can't find where it is.
Also I am thinking that it could be the nuetral safety switch on the transmission. Any thoughts. Anyone have this exact problem. I have been dealing with this since the weekend and have bought and installed both a new battery and the ign switch.

I had a similar issue, but mine was getting hung up in the startup process; when the speed and rpm needles go all the way to the right and return and the DIC reads "Corvette By Chevrolet." It was coupled by clicking from the passenger side floor. I tried replacing the battery but to no avail.
I removed the passenger side floor mat and opened the compartment to reveal a large relay box. I did some shaking and jiggling of the wires and connectors and everything returned to normal. I made sure all the connections and wires were tight and haven't had any further issues since last fall.
