97 coupe, standard heater/AC. The right **** seems to do nothing between foot/face/defrost, etc. I hope it's something simple, I priced the whole **** control unit at $300 on Rockauto. Another vacuum motor at $30, where is it located, do I have to dig very deep in the dash to find it? The AC runs cold, just can't direct the air, it just kind of comes out everywhere. Any earlier car an I'd just look for the damper cable.

It may be the vacuum line that runs from the rear of the intake manifold to the footwell on the passenger side. If that line is broken or off most of the time the air will blow through the defroster& there is no control to direct it.. I would check that first. There are a lot of posts on this and how to pull the intake. Junkman has a very good write up with pics on it. It's a sticky on digital corvettes forum and is very good. Hope that helps with the problem.

I'll snoop around for the vacuum line, start with the easy things first (I'm a retired maintenance millwright). I spent enough time on the stock Fiero chasing vacuum lines for a high idle problem I might have a few feet laying around Thanks for the tip.
Sounds like vacuum problems. I had the same symptoms as you when I purchased my car 4 years ago it turned out to be a leaking battery that ate through the vacuum line that runs between the intake manifold and the vacuum canisters in the passenger fender. Fortunately I caught in time that it did not destroy all wires that run in the same path.
