just put magnaflows om my 04 z is it necessary to put an X pipe on . the told me it would quiet them down . any one?
i have the magnaflow with the x pipeon my 2000 c5. it sounds bad-*** but it drones on the freeway in sixth gear. anywhere from 1300 to 1700 rpm. my engine is bone stock. i put in the sound deadening (damplifier and luxury liner pro) it helps but there is no way to get rid of that drone totally. you just have to go fast enough to get the rpm up a little. or turn up the music so you don't notice.
i have no idea if the x-pipe makes it louder or quieter.
i also have the magnaflow exaust on my tahoe. it is a different set-up but the sound is very similar. i just don't notice the drone on the truck. this may be because the rpm range is different or because the muffler is way behind the driver

I also have the magnaflows. I really like them. Not too loud, just right imo. The x pipe will eliminate the rumble on deceleration.
