I just got a new (to me) Vette. It’s a ’99 pewter targa top with 55,000 mi on it and I love it. After looking for a few months I finally found this one for $15,000 and it’s in good condition. Very clean underneath, body is in great shape with only two stone chips on it, interior is very clean and it runs great. I have not yet found any defects with it. I purchased it from a Lexus dealer in Chicago, and he didn’t know much about the car… but from what I can tell it seems to be quite basic… it has the base suspension (first thing that needs to be replaced – plan to do bars and shocks later this year or early next). Looking under the hood I was happy / surprised to see that it has headers (not sure which ones) and a performance intake on it. Despite the headers (still has the cats) it sounds very mild… maybe a little too mild, but I’m not too concerned about that. It also has some repo chrome Z06 wheels (topline) and new firestone run flats (stock size).
I have been admiring Corvettes since I was a kid and started going to Bloomington gold (and other car shows / auctions) with my father… we have been going since 1981 and only missed one or two years since then. My dad has usually had a few Vettes in the “toy box”, and I finally had the opportunity to add one to mine.
I plan on using it as a daily driver in the spring, summer and fall and store it in winter. I also hope to start looking for some autox events in the area where I can play with it, and as it gets up in miles, I hope to freshen it up and change it over to be a track car.
Very nice. Those look like they might be TPIS headers, but I'm not sure
Thanks... I appreciate the input. I'm slowly trying to figure out what I have here. I just painted the brakes red, looking inside the wheels is how I found out what kind of wheels I had. do you know if there would be anything on them that would help me figure out exactly what they are?

Cheers,

They look like C6 ZO6 replica wheels. A lot of people on here are switching up to the C6 styles.
