Looking for your opinion on Billy Boat headers long or short. Looking at complete system headers, X pipe and 66. One dealer has tried to tell
me last system they did managed to get 100 hp. I know that's a exageration maybe half that if I'm lucky?

I love my shorties... while you wont get the performance of long tubes.. but then here in CA. their not legal.. But that being said they really do perform

If you do buy a set of shorties.. then try and buy them used.. its better deal

No way they got 100 hp from a set of headers, x-pipe and mufflers. Maybe 20-25 hp would be about it for a set of good LTs - the x-pipe and mufflers will add virtually nothing to the bottom line. For shorty headers, a bit less. B&B makes a good product and there are a few members here that have the shorty system and like it a lot.

Just had a full system put on at B&B Fabrication in Phoenix, AZ. Very nice to deal with, and took my Route-66 system (at least six years old) off and polished it to like new condition....for the price of......nada.

I went with the longtunes, x-pipe, and high flow cats. Love everything about them, and fit and finish was second to none. They have the whole system lined up perfectly, and could not be happier. I am still trying to get it back to get a touch-up tune, but my work schedule has not been cooperating.

The butt dyno feels like 50 to 100 HP, but if I got an extra 20 HP I would be happy. They really just tightened up the way the car sounds, and no drone at all. I may switch to the PRT system for a little more noise, with out getting crazy. Also, did not throw any codes, and passed right thru inspection yesterday.

Good Luck, I do not think you would be disappointed!!

I would say they are slightly louder than stock at idle, and definitely louder at WOT.
Even more so with the full system. They are perfect for highway cruising, and no drone. When you want to hear them just hit the go pedal....They have a very nice throaty sound at normal acceleration, you will know they are back there for sure!!!

Hey Bubye,
Good to hear, I knew I had a brother out there somewhere... Had no idea that the link gave access to all my Photobucket stuff...ooops!!

Anyway, yeah probably been a watch person, as long as a vette lover. Can't go wrong with either I guess! The boxer thing is about ten years now, dogs are the best, what personalities.

Maybe our paths will cross some day.

I really think you will be pleased with the B&B setup, why not wouldn't want to have things different now now that we know we were separated at birth... do not even tell me you wife's name is Candy, or this will really get weird...
