Default Power seat malfunction

This is my old mans vette, so reserve the criticism as I didn't create the problem :-)

c5. He was swapping out the power seat bezels and plastic bolt covers for yellow accented ones when this happened. He hit the two front drivers side seat bolts with an electric impact wrench too replace said covers, after which he discovered that the front back/up down functions no longer work. Essentially there is no function from the "multi-directional" switch. I swapped the switch panel with the functioning passenger side panel and still didn't work. I don't have a scan tool so I don't have error codes. It seems highly unlikely that multiple motors connected to that switch failed simultaneously. Obviously the vibration from the impact wrench is the culprit here, but im unfamiliar with the architecture of the power seat system and I'm wondering if there is a module somewhere under there tied to that switch that failed. Or possibly a plug (doubtful)? Any thoughts are much appreciated.

You can get any SCM (Seat Control Module) codes directly from the DIC.
Read this:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...-light-on.html
There are instruction to get codes AND a link to the list-SCN codes are what you want to focus on I would guess.

Problem solved. Turns out that when he ran the seat up full forward, a wire bundle caught in the seat frame and the forward motion pulled a harness apart slightly enough to kill power to those motors. Thanks for the input.
