Default 160 Thermostat

Does anyone know if GM makes a 160 thermostat? I have a 2001 coupe and I believe that the thermostat is built into the housing also.

GM doesn't make a 160 thermostat, at least not that I've ever seen

Ive been wondering this, get a thermostat, or just have them tune when the fans come on?

I'm getting ready to change the coolant and was just thinking it might be a good idea.

I live in Texas and do quite abit of stop and go driving, as it gets quite hot here. Car usually runs about 210-220, which I know is normal for these cars. Just thought cooler would be better.

SacCityCorvette has a really neat remote fan switch. I installed one in my vert and it works great keeping the temp down on hot, hot days and in heavy traffic.

Just messing around with you a little.

It is actually a matter of great debate. We have had some historic and heated treads in the past.

Many will tell you that it is a bad idea because the car was designed to run hot.

Many will tell you it's a must.

Peace

I do plan to change the fan temps using my Diablosport - predator tuner.
