The particular cam I had in mind was the EnglandGreen whiplsh 2 cam. Only other mods that I would really have are vararam, catback, and underdrive pulley. I was planning on staying with stock heads for now and was assuming that those mods would make somewhere around low 400s. Should I plan on upgrading/reinforcing anything else if those are the only power mods I want?
I was thinking maybe clutch, but supposedly it's good for around low 400's?

not sure on the specs of that cam but you may need some valve springs... a new oil pump and timing chain would be a good idea since you're already in there... this is assuming you are buying the parts separately, most cam kits come with what you will need for the install

i'm guessing you will definitely need springs and might have to flycut the pistons with a cam that big... you will be choking the engine with stock heads and no longtubes... you need airflow in order for it to work it's best... i would suggest you do a little more research and make a better decision

You can keep the stock 243 heads and make pretty good numbers. Like stated above. You are placing your motor on borrowed time w/o springs or IMO, double roller TC. Infact a reputable shop SHOULD NOT install a cam that big KNOWING or atleast informing the owner that it needs springs. I see you didnt list longtube headers. That is an ESSENTIAL mod for these cars. (if you plan to mod) You would be choking the everliving hell outta it plus your leaving 40+rwhp n tq on the table w/o them.

Please do not install any of our cams without our complete cam kit. No flycutting is needed with our Whiplash II.
Also, you will need headers and high flow cats. Our Whiplash II cam is a big cam - it needs to breathe. Your car will drive pretty horribly if you do not do it right.
