This florida heat is brutal and I need my AC to finally work. I have all the fenders and bumpers off my 2000 A4 b/c of critter infestation so I can't drive it to an AC repair shop just yet. Trying to remedy all problems before I put humpty dumpty back together. I found the HVAC tube eaten away by battery acid so I spliced it with new tubing. I have a manual air and I can go from warm air to really hot and can change settings to window defroster but I could not get cold air. I also removed the AC condenser and put it back on and then had a mechanic come by my house with a compressor type machine and connected to my low and high sides and then added the freon and he looked for a leak with a UV light and these yellow glasses and also had a sniffer to try to detect a freon leak and could not find one. Initially only the passenger air outlets were cold and the middle and driver outlet were still warm. He almost gave up and then we decided to put more freon and I had cold air from all outlets. 5 days later I drive the car around the driveway and I only have warm air. Corvette brethren, work your magic. Any suggestions. Thanks.
Did you check your DIC for codes? Also, when he put in the freon did he put some dye in it as well? Sounds like you lost your charge, big time, if only 5 days?

I cleared the codes 1 week ago and new codes are
28- TCS
C1255 H
BO- RFA
U1096 H
U1064 H
U1016 H.
He did not add any dye but he used a UV light and glasses and I think that is to pick up a leak, but what do I know. Obviously nothing about AC's.
What do these codes mean? Thanks.
C1255 EBTCM Internal Malfunction (could be related to the acid problem)
U1016 Loss of Communication with PCM
U1064 Loss of Communication with BCM
U1096 Loss of Communication with IPC
These codes could be when you disconnected the battery
[QUOTE=dmarkshark;1577992933]I would definitely get some dye in it and then look with the yellow glasses. When mine was done, you could see where it was leaking, everywhere.[/
Is this dye something that I could buy and do myself or just take it to a shop? Thanks.

Any auto parts store will have it.
From what you have said, you are going to have someone else fix it anyway so just take it to the shop.
They can find the leak (which I think is you trouble) and then fix it.
Good luck
Took me a year, 4 recharges and stupidity until they put dye in and realized it was the evaporator core leaking in my C4. Your problem sounds similiar.
