AC drops out intermittently

What would cause my AC to drop in and out during city driving? Mind you that it's been hotter than HELL lately, about 105-107. But what could cause my AC to cycle on and of for 30-60 seconds at a time?

The AC system will cycle on and off when the freon is low...Simply add some freon (up to the specified pressure level on the gage) and the cycling should stop...

Stop drag racing from stop light to stop light.

The A/C clutch disengages above about 4500rpm... you sure you hadn't hooked up with a Cobra and where showing him your tail lights.

I will have the ac compressor clutch and freon level checked this weekend. I have torched a few Cobra's in my time, but I wasn't drag racing at the time. Funny though, I've toasted them even with the AC full blast.
