2001 coupe 78k miles sat for three weeks with the keys in it, in off position, voltage is 12.2. Wife says take me to dinner tonight in the Vette, so I cleaned her up (the car) real nice, vacuuming behind and under the seats included. Filled her up (the car) when I was on my way I got a display of "Pull key, wait 10 sec", I pulled over and did this and even changed keys to the spare and still getting the 10 sec display and "service colum lock" now too. The only code I have is A6-SCM B2187 H C and when I tried to reset it my seat would move a bit a few times and now it I can here a clunking noise under the seat when pushing reset, code stays. The drivers seat moves forward and back only, the passenger side operates as it should. Before these issues when I pulled the key out I would hear a electric motor noise by the ignition key hole breifly, I don,t know if I have the colum lock bypass done as I bought the car used.
Would the seat issues cause colum issues as well? Seems to start and run fine. Thank you for any input.
Thank you for the reply! Got up this morning read your post and cleaned the terminals which were fine and put the battery charger on. I will check voltage at the battery later. I am suprised that all these kizmos are so sensitive to voltage. I hope this helps.
Thank you again.
Ok, battery charged fully (13.5 volts) still getting the "pull key" deal and "service column lock". I do not hear the little motor noise by the key hole I normally heard but hear clicking coming from the box to the left of the fuse box on the passenger side. It runs fine. Is it safe to drive without being stranded? Still getting the b2187 code and driver seat controls do not work correctly. Ideas?
