Well, i here ya. We really get attatched to these vettes. My is a big part of my life right now. Nice new vette you have there.
I can see why your upset. She was a fine one. I personally don't know what I'd do without mine. I do drive a lot more 'Defensively anymore. Main threat, teenagers with Mom's Acura and texting at 50MPH or some drunk that I can catch a look at coming up behind me. but no matter what you do, someone somehow if they are distracted, your gonna get the hit. Sorry for your loss.
Good point: I knew the cables were cut and had jumper cables, so cut off some batt-cable insulation and re-established the power circuit. I just thought it was sort of amazing she started with the bags blown and after the batt sat for over 4 weeks ? But she started right up ... VRROOOM !
Well there ya go, since the cables were cut after the MVA the battery wasnt draining due to the parasitic draw, so it stayed charged
Hate to see a good one go, but you have another....good luck
Always hard to lose a great car, but the main thing is you are ok. I see you moved up to a C6. I also noticed it is one of the special Hertz cars. How many miles on it. I like the looks on these cars an there is one just up the road at a lot and it has been there for over a month now.
A week after the 'cident, I stopped by a couple of vette dealers to see what I might choose from, and saw the ZHZ. First thought was, nah -it's a vert, 2nd thought was, NAH -it's yella, 3rd thought was "test-drive" and that was it, great car. 32K miles on her, and I left, excited but puzzled about the ZHZ badges.
At home I looked it up, "HERTZ RENTAL CAR -bought at auction," so I thinks again, NAH -what idiot would buy a rental. Then researched further to find there were only 375 made with maybe some 370 surviving, they agreed to put on new tires, fix the lumbar-bolsters and 3-other minor fixes and W-O-W, that's a pretty limited thing for just $38K, eh! Called the dealer and p/u'd the next morning. Insurance settlement is still not finished, but sent them the C5s title today to finish.

Reason: typo
JUST A MACHINE? Obviously you should drop off your vette at the nearest shelter so it can find some love???
Yeah,,it's just a car,,,,,but WHAT a car!! Kids are grown and the vette is ALMOST like a family member !! I might not actually cry,,,but it WOULD be an emotional loss for sure!! Glad you got out OK,,and found another one to adopt!! Congrats on both counts!!!
