Trust me, its not all the driving that concerns me, its the large amount of drinking/partying at the other end Its not gonna look good if the chief is passed out half way through the party

I guess Ill just have to see
I have a 5 hour drive. I always go head down early Friday morning, go to the show until about 5:00 or so then go have dinner somewhere, get to a local hotel and relax, then get to the fair grounds early Saturday. Of course I always reserve a room ahead of time. I usually head for home around 4:00 or so Saturday afternoon. I love the show and the 5 hour cruise by myself as much or more!

I have missed two Corvettes at Carlisle since 1991. I go with a group of friends (approx 15 people) and we normally stay at a hotel in Gettysburg. The ride in on the back roads through the orchards is pleasant and you get to wake up on the way in as we are usually on the grounds before 8 am. We break out about 3 pm and head back South winding down on the ride home. Lunch is always a team effort as we enjoy the BIG SMOKIE sandwich all the way. Before and after lunch everyone is on their own but lunch is a group function.

You owe it to yourself to attend Corvettes at Carlisle at least once. Then you will find out if you want to do it again and again and again.

Weather can be from 78 degrees and 56% humidity to over 100 degrees with 99% humidity; usually favoring the latter. Expect a thunderstorm with high winds at least one afternoon or evening. It is commonplace in late August at Carlisle.

Walk the grounds, feast your eyes on everything Corvette from absolutely perfect to absolute KRAP ! ! ! It is all there. I see guys with the same parts they had there in 1991. They don't care if they sell them or not. It is a weekend experience that is fun.

Friday is a great day to attend the show. Thursday is also great.
