Not saying your problem is my problem but google search "Corvette leaking gas tank"... I dont know where my leak is (I had a puddle) but im just ripping it all out and putting in a new fuel system...
not trying to freak you out but mine started with the smell.. leave it running in your driveway for a few minutes and see if you have any puddles at idle..
Good luck Boss, hope we dont have the same problem
If you smell gas, then you have a leak. Normally the fuel filter is the first thing to look at and in the case of your car, its up above the exhaust pipes on the driver's side. Being that it's located there, you need to get on this right away. Now two more possibilities...one is the cross-over tube from the left tank to the right tank...the large fuel fill tube...it can crack and twist along with being a PITA to get too. Also on your car, in the engine bay, driver's side fuel rail, there's a plastic snake looking tube that connects to a metal line at the firewall. This connects via a quick-disconnect and might have come off. Its a fuel return line to the tank.
Just remembering one other thing that many people do not know about...on the right rear, behind the right fender, there's a fuel pressure relief valve that's mounted vertically and its white. Its connected via a hard plastic line, all the way across to the left fuel tank. You can see it by removing either of the right tail lights and look in there with a flash light.
