Received new relays today. installed the two for the door locks, and the same problem, cannot lock the doors from the driver side control, unlock works just as before....Could it be the control unit?

I'm having the same issue, my doors will lock with the fob, but will not unlock. I need to order the relays, however I am not looking forward to doing this, I never cared for taking door panels off and messing with electrical junk on cars, I would rather pull the motor!

In the link pictures the lock relay is the one on the bottom. The middle relay is for unlock.

There is only one actuator motor so we know the actuator is good so it must be an internal issue with the door module. The relay is the most likely cause and it is fairly easy to replace.

I have worked on dozens of door issues and I predict that the relay is your problem.

Let me know if I can help further.

I am a bit confused regarding which relay does what - the middle is supposed to be the unlock from what I have seen and read, but explain to me this...

My driver door would not lock with the fob. Unlock worked perfectly fine, so I replaced the "Lock" relay, reassembled everything and no luck, same issue. Then thinking maybe the actuator was the issue, I also replaced it - again, no luck. Now pulling ideas out of the air, I went ahead and replaced the unlock relay on the board.... wait for it...... Everything now worked.

Help me out here.... Thanks

Not the most elegant method, but I know when my relays went bad I could give the door a hard close or smack the door panel to get it to work. Another clue that the relays are going bad is that the door will lock sometimes.

My thought is that if the actuator was bad that the door wouldn't lock or unlock, but if it unlocks then the actuator is good. Not 100% sure on that, though.

Replace the relay. The actuator seems fine if it unlocks. There is just one motor for lock and unlock. Two separate relays for that activity.

Ok so I could use alittle help. I bought a 02 z06 couple weeks ago that was neglected. I'm loving the car but these little issues are killing me here. I used this great forum for tips to replace the passenger side window motor and regulator. After I finished that install I tested it and it worked, I was very happy. So while I had the door panel off I figured I would attempt to replace the door lock relays because the door lol didn't work on that side. So I tried it, didn't go so well, I had got a good splatter of solder all over trying to blow the holes clean. Thought I got that all cleaned up, then while cleaning one of the holes out I must have got it to hot and one of the rings that the pins go through came off. So I think I'm F'd here, right? Any way I put it all back together and now the window doesn't work, WTF? I can live without he door locks but I would sure like to use my new power window? Please help

Old thread you brought up but relevant so....
Your best bet is to replace the door module as ther are somewhat cheap.

Do you know if there is any difference between years or options?

I believe there was. You'll find a part number on your module, just go with that.
