There's three ways to do the intake mod; brand name CAI, free "flip tie" mod, or cheap large K&N attached directly to your MAF. If you want the most effective (IMO) get a Vararam. Second choice in brand name would be a Callaway Honker. Do a search for "flip-tie" mod. You can buy a conical K&N reusable filter for about $50 that attaches directly to your MAF, and discard the stock airbox.
If you want a really nice power boost, in addition to the CAI, long tube headers is your next step. I recommend LG "Streets", but there's several good brands. If you do these two mods, it'd be a good time for a dyno tune. GL.
Yea thanks im definately going to look into all that thanks appreciate it!
so should i stay away from the k&n intake i seen the the aircharger intake system also
If the first thing you intend to do is an intake mod, I would consider the Callaway. It has OEM quality fit and finish. It's not that difficult to install and gives great performance results. Price wise you get what you pay for. While headers are definetely a great investment, you might want to do a catback exhaust second instead. Improving the sound will make your seem much faster, even if the actual improvement will be minimal. Plus it will also improve the looks of the car's rear and will complement the header system you might eventually install. I have a Magnaflow but I'm not recommending any one exhaust in particular. There are just too many different brands and sounds, you'll have to research them and come to your own conclusions. After that the header system and a tune should be your next step, this will make all the mods come together and be worthwhile. At this point your car should be noticeably quicker. During all this, another mod you might want to consider and is FREE is to lower your car on the stock bolts. You can search to find info on how to do it. It will make any Vette look better and offer some improvement in handling without sacrificing ride quality, as long as you don't go any lower than the stock bolts allow. By the way I also have the LG Steet header with cats. A great system, made well, fits well, and gives a great hp improvement. When you get a tune, the tuner might also recommend you change to a 160 degree thermostat. I don't know where you are from, but ECS in Cream Ridge, NJ does great tunes and you can do it by mail if necessary. Good luck!
STRIPER- Thanks i appreciate the help! Ive just seen alot of different brands and see whats the best bang for my buck while mostly all of them are pretty pricey but i have looked into lowereing on the stock bolts and i am going to do that asap but i am waiting dont want to rush into to many mods
