Im not sure you're gonna find a way to get anything to stick to leather for long. You may have some success just applying it, but Im pretty sure its going to come off in pretty short order. Stitching the design is obviously the way to go, but may not be practical or affordable depending on how detailed whatever you're trying to put on there is.
If your dead set on trying it, you might consider applying it to an outline piece of leather (or whatever you want to use, trace it with a small margin slightly larger than the decal) and have that stitched onto the seat . . .same color stitch as decal....whatever.
Thanks for the response. What I am trying to do is add a C5 emblem to the black leather head rests that I had made for the seats. It is my understanding that the maker could not do this as they are not liciensed to do so.Stitching is a problem after they are made due to the fact that they have padding built into them. Thanks again for the response.
