Default Light Problem

Last night I took my vette out for evening drive. When I turned on my headlights, my headlights turned on like normal but my dashlights, foglights, and taillights failed to turn on. After about 5 minutes of turning on and off my headlights, everything turned on.

My question is, Is that an electrical issue, or is it a switch issue?

I heard in the past the switch does go bad and has to be replaced. I just want to be sure before I spend the money on a new switch.

Any input would be appreciated.

It is not unusual for the switches inside the 'stem" to go bad. Turning the switches off and on likely made the connection complete, but it will likely return. I suspect the contacts in the wiper switch have the same problem, but since no one drives their Vette in the rain, we've never had a reported problem

I'd guess it is the multi-function stalk too that is the problem area. Might want to have it checked out.

Anyone who lives in South Florida and the Vette is the daily driver, drives in the rain three to four days a week.
P. S. They don't melt.

Yep. I was in Miami for a few days for one of our conventions and it rained for about 20 minutes every single day.
