It might be cheaper to get agreed value with a classic car insurance company. More for your money.
I had my 1917 Mod. T (110 bucks a year agreed) & My 1930 Mod. A (130.00 year agreed) with Hagerity but they won't take my 01 vette with only 8,000 miles - to new - I also tried grundy - no luck - Went with USAA who carries our other vehicles -
one new windshield covers about 5-6 yrs of comp coverage with a Zero deductible. And thats down here in Louisiana where I'm told our rates are higher than the rest of the world. I've had at least 5 windshields replace and 3 repaired on all my cars over the last 15yrs. Only one on the vette.

If you don't put a ton of miles on your car (most of these companies max out mileage at 7,500/year or so) this may be a good way to go - you may find that you're saving over your current policy and that you've guaranteed yourself value if something happens.
I was always under the assumption that hitting a deer would fall under comprehensive?
Hitting animals would fall under the Comprehensive side of a policy.
Collision and Comprehensive are usually sold together. Not sure if they can be bought separately. To keep the premiums down, carry as high a deductible as you can. Sometimes a $1000 deductible can make a big difference in the premiums. Put that $1000 away in some sort of savings plan so it earns money but is still accessible.
I keep full coverage on the '97 Vette, but I don't usually do that past 10 years. The Vette still has enough value, besides, the $1000 deductible isn't a problem. I could put it on a credit card that I carry a zero balance on if I didn't have the cash in the checking account. The Corvette is about $30 a year cheaper than the '05 Pontiac Aztek it replaced, I'm sure being 62 has some to do with that.
My insurance is $54 a month with high premiums and full coverage including the smalls mods. I couldn't imagine anyone not being abe to have full coverage.
BTW I'm a 27 single male so if I can get it that cheap I imagine 90% of the people on this board are paying less.
Mine is paid off and I maintain full coverage with full glass. The only thing I changed recently was the deductable which I upped to 1K. With State Farm my annual premium is about 950.00, thats with the multi car and multi line (house) and all the other discounts for safe driving, etc. I have shopped around and thats pretty much the best price I could get.
