Z06 performance
Hello all,
I have a question about what the expected 1/8th & 1/4 mile performance of a 385 hp Z06 with an ATI procharger system should be. I would also like to have some base line #'s for stock performance also. If someone could let me know what stock Z06's run and some chassis dyno # I'd appreciate it.
The reason I'm interested is that I have a friend who recently installed an ATI system on his Z06 and it appears to be a real under achiever. On the chassis dyno it made 385hp to the wheels but I thought stock ones made around 330hp+. We took the same car to the 1/8th mile track and couldn't get better than a 93 mph trap speed either.
Any insight would be great

I agree, I think your friends Z has some issues. Just yesterday I talked to a '02 Z owner who had headers, intake, and exhaust mods and his Dyno # was 385. Although I haven't dyno tested my '01 Z, most posts I have seen on the board are at 325 to 345, as stock. Just look at some of the posts from guys with heads and cam almost running high 10's at 125mph.
I think our GN's are going to have our handsful with the power the c5's are making these days.

Sounds like some serious tuning problems.
My 01 dyno'd 363rwhp with only an intake and exhaust.
Need to get that car to a proper tuner and pull some autotap or ease traces and see where the problem is.
I know a guy with an EB 2002 Z06 and ATI Procharger and he is pulling 578rwhp and is still tuning :eek:
Good luck on getting that puppy tuned in.

I have a new 2002z06 stock dynoed it with 500 miles on it. rwhp 348.5 wrtq 348.6 :cheers:

First off, big thumbs up on the turbo Regal. :D
Secondly, I concur with those who've already posted. My car is an '02, but stock it made 350rwhp and the day after I dyno'd it, I raced it. 1/8 mile MPH was 91-92mph.
Obviously your buddy's car is down on power big time. Even with a 5-6psi kit, it should be over 430rwhp. Chances are good its running way rich and the PCM is pulling timing, too.

This is sort of what I figured. I know from seeing Z06's run at the drags that they usually belt out around 112-114 MPH for the 385 hp version. Backfiguring, my thought is that would equate to an 1/8 mile mph around 90mph.
Honestly this car does exist and unfortunately it isn't living up to it's potential. Oh, and if anyone was wondering I had my Buick at the track (Irwindale) the same day and ran 6.61 @ 107 in the 1/8th.
