A lot of information here!!!
Don't flame me to hard still trying to figure the site out.
I ordered BBK SHORTY HEADERS, Magnaflow x pipe (15437) and Magnaflow Mufflers (16732) waiting for all the parts to come in to swap on the car. I'm leaving in the stock cat due to living in new york state i dont want to get a check engine light. Not new to cars so i know it's a squeeze in the system.
The BBK SHORTY HEADERS though should i wrap them or not?
I know that wraps kill the longevity of headers but def keep the heat in so i dont get a CEL.
Shortys won't give you a CEL and unless they are stainless, they'll carbonize and fall apart on you pretty quickly. There's really no reason to wrap them.
I have run JBA s.s. shorties, no wrap, no coating, no issues. Save your money - they look better au naturale anyway! Nice bluish tint looks good on 'em!
I am sending my xs power long tubes out for a coat of silver ceramic on the outside and the race coat on the inside. Mainly for heat retention and of course looks.
