Humming fuel pump
First off let me say that I'm not very sophisticated or knowledgeable when it comes to any Car maintenance issue. I drive and when I have a problem, I take it in. Well after several years of driving my vette I noticed a louder and louder fuel pump hum. Finally when I took her in for some work the mechanic asked "when was the last time I checked the fuel filter?" Dah He pulled it and sure enough it was totally clogged. After he replaced it, the fuel pump hum is hardly noticeable!
If you can't think over the hum you might check the filter.

What did they charge you to replace the fuel filter and how many miles did you have on it?
edit- I just checked with my local dealer and it looks like $100 parts/labor.
