There as a thread out there recently talking about various colors of pewter. Why did it get closed?? I had the classic torch red C4 but when I went to the C5 I wanted something other than red or black. Since I live in Az I definitely wanted a vert. After several months of searching the Forum I found my prize...a '02 pewter vert down in Tucson. Went down just to "look" at it and wound up driving it home. It was the perfect desert color for me.
I'm happy with my Pewter C5! I've had just about every color vette at one time or another. With this last vette, I had made up my mind that I wanted a pewter vette with low miles. Took close to a year to find just the right one. A lot of looking and waiting, but the right one finally showed up and I grabbed it. That was about nine years ago and still happy with my choice.
Pewter was my choise too. I ended up buying the first car I looked at. It kept drawing me back. I thought I wanted blue, but couldn't get the Pewter vert out of my mind. Altough the black interior is very hot, after sitting out in the sun all day. I keep the wheel covered with a towel when parked at work.
After having a black C4 I was ready for anything but black; it happened to be pewter and now it has really grown on me. The other colour I like is cyber gray.

Most of my Corvettes, or any other car for that matter were usually basic black or white. I always believed flashy cars didn't need flashy paint. When I started looking for my retirement Corvette, pewter or silver were the only ones I considered and I have no idea what happened to cause the change.

I love my 2000 pewter. I just added mostly black rims with machine faced double stars and tinted the windows. I love how it looks. Also painted the lower tail end black just above the exhaust. Give it a whole different look. And yes I love that it doesn't show that it is dirty but just brush up against it with light colored pants and you know.
Enjoy it.
Got to admit that the color was second to the condition of car when I bought it, but I do love the color. Have gotten a number of compliments on the color also.
First Corvette at age 66 (5 years ago). It sat in the Chevy dealer showroom. First one I looked at and didn't even test drive it. Put $50. down to hold it till the next day, picked it up and when I drove away for the first time, you couldn't get the smile off my face with a hand grenade. The thing is though, they advertised it as "Galaxy Silver". What's up with that? Looks like pewter to me.
