Watch your battery drainage. These pull battery power even if the car is off and the ipod is unplugged. I just put mine in this week. I ended up having to splice into the accessory plug under the passenger footwell and use that for switched power.
Got one for my iphone 4...works great nice and clear and its great having limitless choices. ipod/Pandora/pockettunes/sirius all at the touch of a button.
What do you have to say about the battery draining issue?
well
to be honest
I have not had one single phone call or anyone wanting a refund to due battery drain.
We have sold probably 3000 plus kits already and no complaints
my car sets for 3 weeks and battery is dead and I dont have an ipod kit connected always been like this since the day I bought it.

Never had an issue like you are saying, I had mine installed for months with no battery issues at all and I even kept the itouch pluged it.

Many other people here have. When i put mine in, I went ahead and used a switched power source just to be safe. the spare plug under the passengers foot well was an easy find and guarantees I wont have to worry about it.

I was about to order one but now I'm glad that I didn't. The last thing I need is an electrical gremlin draining away the battery.

I too have read this many times on various forums. I contacted the Isimple tecs. They advised that there is a component in the adapter that will sense when the Ipod is charged and discontinue any further charging. (vehicle on or off) If the Ipod is unplugged there is no battery drain.
I have not had any battery issues with mine. How ever mine now works for a minute then basically resets and the song pauses and reconnects to the iPod. It's quite annoying and I plan to remove the adapter and find a better option. I think the heat got to it this summer when we hit 100 deg. Temps.
2002 Isimple install at CD changer: How to run cable?
I have an 02 with CD changer in the trunk. My wife gave me the isimple PXDP interface device, and it came with a PXHGM2 harness (2 actually, for some reason). Install instructions look pretty straight forward, but can anyone suggest a post or website that will tell me how to run the docking cable under the carpet and into the console? I have no idea how to access under the carpet and interior trim pieces. All advice welcome. Thanks!
