Default Newb here...

Picked up my my Z in the middle of May, and have been lurking here for awhile but yet to post.

Anyways, it's an 02, purchased with 9,300 miles.

I've got some questions though, as it has had minor work done to it, which I've figured out, but still not sure about a couple appearance items.

The emblems have me puzzled, colors are slightly faded, and the rest is chrome, which makes me believe aftermarket, bc didn't they all come with the black rubber ones from the factory? Mine drive me nuts, so should I just buy newones off eBay?

Also, would the wheels have come chromed?

Obviously I know the chrome letter inserts are added, and I'm still toying with leaving it or not.

Also, no clue what the exhaust is, it's not catback, and there is no branding stamped on it anywhere, and no one seems to know.

Performance wise, it's got the exhaust, short throw, thermometer mod or whatever it's called (clicks the fan on at 160), and the stock air box has been Swiss cheesed with a replacement drop in filter. All work was performed by Vinci Powersports in Orlando by the first owner...I'm the 3rd.

Anyways, look forward to being a member here and all the knowledge I will receive....here are the pics.

This pic is after a heavy detail the first week of having her....and shows a view of the emblem

Looks as though the original owner swapped out the emblem (at least the rear), which I removed my rear emblem, liked the smooth look on t he trunk.

Looks and sounds like you have a nice ride.

Congrats and Welcome.

Yea the Hood emblem is the same, so I was figuring that's what was done.

Appreciate it!

Looks like a good exhaust too. I like the tips. Appears to be bullet mufflers.

Nice...congrats, sounds like a good find.

As far as the rims, mine were chrome too. Found out they were aftermarket boat anchors...yours likely are too. Gave me the excuse to get some CCW's!

Yea I really like the exhaust, just no idea on what it is, bullet has been mentioned by others before.

Yea I've wondered the history behind the wheels but doubt there is anyways to figure it out. I like the look so they will stay for awhile, but I'm sure at some point they will be replaced. Interesting that they have the Corvette emblem in the center though, as most replicas I've seen didn't come with them.

I've reached the conclusion that one or both of the previous owners were chrome freaks.
