Default car alignment

Put the car up on the lift yesterday just to do an overall inspection and noticed the inside of both front tires have about 20% tread left while the middle and outsides look almost brand new still. I got the car aligned about 6000 miles ago and the place I took it has always done awesome work on every vehicle I brought there. So are these cars made where they ride more on the inside of the tire or does it sound like the alignment wasn't done right?

Someone more in the know I'm sure will chime in, but thats what I was told also...the factory alignment is set that way for improved handling and therefore wears the inner edges quicker....

KK....I noticed this about my front tires recently as well. I posted here about it and most agreed it was normal for the factory alignment. Most of my cars in the past have had similar wear because I tend to "appreciate" corners.

Some said you can have it aligned to optimize more even wear but you'll give up a bit of grip in the twisties.

Seems a shame to toss tires that look just fine from the outside.
