I'm on budget but looking to purchase my first Corvette. I'm looking at 97' C5 with 135k. It appears well maintain chevy dealer records. The price is $9500. Can anyone offer any advice on what to look for or checklist ? Thank you in advance.

If it has been dealer serviced with records that seems like a pretty good price.

Thank you. I spoke to the owner. It has had a few of the minor issues mentioned here. I'm going to go check it out. Thanks again.

Bought mine with 125k,and I'm at 143k now. I had some minor fixes, but no huge repair expenses. Can't wait till I hit 200k. I say go for it, the price seems right, and if its been checked out, you shouldn't have anything to worry about in the near future.

But watch out for that mod bug, it seems to bite everyone sooner or later.

It's cheap enough - but just depends on how it has been maintained. I'd want to see some kind of maintenance records if at all possible.

I have a Corvette Buyers Checklist and if you'd like a copy, PM me your e-mail address.

just make sure the EBCM isn't throwing any codes, those earlier models aren't fixable and are hard to come by...Pull up the codes http://www.stengel.net/diccodes.htm

Also, just know that nothing lasts forever and things do wear out.

Definitely prepare for having to be replace things, but that is a good price, indeed.
